Denise Faye

Director/Choreographer

Denise Faye is an award-winning director, creative director, choreographer, dancer, and actress.

She is the recipient of an American Choreography Award, as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award for the Academy Award winning film, Chicago. Denise won the Dance Track Magazine "Artist Award" for best choreography in a feature film for her work in the film, Burlesque starring Christina Aguilera and Cher. Additionally, she received nominations including the Fred and Adele Astaire Award and The World Dance Award for her choreography in Burlesque.

Denise directed and choreographed the incomparable Cher in her “Dressed 2 Kill” and “Classic Cher” World Tour and Las Vegas Residency, as well as for many individual shows worldwide. As Cher’s Creative Director, Denise directed several music videos and ads among them, Cher’s “Let Girls Learn” video for Michelle Obama. Denise directed and choreographed Cher’s lauded performance at The Billboard Awards where Cher received the Icon Award.

Denise directed and choreographed Christina Aguilera in many TV spots such as The American Music Awards, The X factor UK finale, and Dancing With The Stars.

Denise directed the concert DVD of Martha Davis & the Motels "Live at the Whisky a Go Go's 50th Anniversary.” Additionally, Denise directed the musical The Magic Horn at The Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles which is currently being developed for the Broadway stage.

Denise’s multidimensional choreography enhances such films as Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot’s Red Notice, as well as Central Intelligence, also starring the always amazing Dwayne Johnson. Denise choreographed Jennifer Aniston in her scintillating striptease scene in We're the Millers, as well as Michelle Williams’ musical performances in her star turn as Marilyn Monroe, in My Week With Marilyn, helping her to win a Best Actress Golden Globe Award for her performance. Additionally, working alongside her mentor Rob Marshall, her work can be seen in the Academy Award winning film Chicago, Pirates of the Caribbean 4, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Nine among others.

In television her work is featured on such programs as: The Academy Awards, choreographing Oscar winner Catherine Zeta-Jones, the Emmy Award winning television special Tony Bennett: An American Classic, Rod Stewart’s Great Performances Christmas Special, and in multiple episodes of multiple tv shows, as well as commercials for Dasani Water for the Olympics, Go Daddy for the Super Bowl, and other campaigns for international brands such as Sky Vodka and Visa.

Choreography credits also include working with Hugh Jackman on a multimillion-dollar live extravaganza for Steve Wynn, in his sumptuous Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas

She has aided actors such as Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Johnny Depp, Daniel Day Lewis, Tobey Maguire, Penelope Cruz, and many others, in the art of movement.

Denise has choreographed and /or performed on most all of the top American award shows including the Academy Awards, the Emmy Awards, and the Tony Awards.

As an actress, some of Denise’s credits include the role of Annie in the aforementioned Academy Award winning film Chicago, for which she won a Screen Actors Guild Award. Denise was featured in one of the all time favorite scenes in the beloved American Pie franchise. Switching from comedy to dancing, Denise stars opposite Jon Bon Jovi in his music video, The Queen of New Orleans.

She has worked with legendary Broadway luminaries such as Hal Prince, Jerry Zaks, James Lapine, and Jerome Robbins among others. Plays include works at the Public Theater, Lincoln Center Theater, Williamstown Theater Festival, and Second Stage Theater. Her theatrical performance credits include eight Broadway shows, many of them Tony-winning, including Guys and Dolls and Chicago. A poster for the hit Show Chicago, featuring a full-length Denise, towered over Times Square for years.

Denise studied at the The School of American Ballet, danced with the New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center, and attended Barnard College, Columbia University with a double major in Urban Studies and Psychology.
